Feral
Cat
Fridays

The Alabama Spay/Neuter Clinic is now holding Alabama's first Feral Cat Friday, a new program dedicated to helping provide a humane solution to feral cat colonies.

On Feral Cat Fridays, cat colony caretakers are encouraged to trap as many of their feral cats as possible and bring them to the clinic for spay/neuter, supplemental pain meds, rabies vaccination, and flea, worm, and ear mite treatment. All cats will have their ears tipped to show that they have been altered.

Total package price is only $45.

Feral Cat Friday in full swing

Transportation will be provided within our coverage area if caretakers are unable to bring them in. The cats will stay overnight.

Prepayment is required and appointments must be made.

Feral Cat Fridays will be a monthly event and will be held on the third Friday of each month.

For more information, contact Donald at SpayAlabama, 866-9SpayAL.

Spay/Neuter Tags

Proposed Alabama Spay/Neuter Plate

Thanks to an anonymous donor, we made it! There were enough spay/neuter tags presold to make the tag issuance a reality. Prepaid tags can be picked up at the county license division beginning March 2, 2009. If you haven't signed up for a tag yet, you can still get yours when you renew your license, for $50 plus your normal vehicle license renewal fee.

Of this, $41.50 will go to a special fund to provide spay/neuter services for the pets of Alabama residents currently on Medicaid.
